During the HEMA Design contest, young designers are given the opportunity to submit their own designed solution for a particular challenge. The challenge of the 30th edition was: design a solution that makes the time better you spend with loved ones at home.

Houtje-Touwtje contains an backpack with attractive colourful booklet filled with adventures. With the 17 connection elements, objects from the house or garden can be transformed to one of the fantasies such as a boat or a castle. It replaces "screen time", with an imaginative, unstructured way of playing, connecting parent and child.

The winning design will be realized in collaboration with HEMA and will be available in every store from September 2021.
